Lighting

Lighting is one of the most important elements in decorating a home for the holidays. Lighting can set a tone and create atmosphere that can make or break the mood you’re going for. There are many different types of lights, and each has its own unique purpose. For example, you might want to string up some large, multi-colored lights outside your house to bring attention to it during the daytime when no one is home. This will give you an opportunity to show off your holiday decorations to passersby. Alternatively, you might not want that kind of attention and prefer a more modest display. In this case, you should opt for some twinkle lights around your front door and maybe some small pillar candles inside—but nothing too ostentatious. If you’re worried about unwanted guests coming over and stealing your holiday goodies, consider getting security lights installed around your home’s perimeter (or even an alarm system if it’s really serious).

There are many other ways to decorate with lighting, but when choosing what type of lighting to incorporate into your holiday decorations, remember that less is more. You want people to see what you want them to see without being distracted by other things.
